WORK EXPERIENCE

Whilst undertakling my MA i was an on-going volunteer at this private conservation workshop. My responsibilities involved assisting the owner in larger interventive conservation projects, and undertaking individual work on smaller objects, specialising in decorative surfaces such as ceramics and gilded objects for private clients.
As an ongoing volunteer I have been involved in a project, to consolidate and protect 14th Century painted beams on site, during a larger building restoration project.
As a placement student I worked alongside the collections care team, carrying out preventative conservation tasks such as pest monitoring, condition reporting. I also carried out object treatment tasks such as cleaning outdoor sculpture. My role also included collections handling, and weekly tasks such as clock winding and environmental monitoring.
With peers I carried out a short term project for Crick-Smith, conserving a collection of 6 taxidermy birds, for Sheffield Museum.
As a volunteer I carried out general museum tasks, accessioning, cleaning objects and stores, and basic conservation tasks. My role involved some interventive treatment, working with a wide range of objects from ethnographic to ceramic, and preventative conservation tasks.

I am currently emplyed by the National Trust as Conservation Assistant at The Greyfriars, Worcester. My responsibilites include conservation cleaning, preventative conservation, collections care and facilitating exhibitions and researchers.
