Before and After Treatment

A plaster fill and rivets were removed, the plate was then cleaned and the break edges were bleached. The sherds were then adhered with an epoxy resin, and areas of loss were filled and retouched.
Once previous repairs were removed 79 sherds of the pierced work were reconstructed using pins on a plastazote form, they were then adhered with Paraloid B72. Areas of loss were filled with bulked epoxy resin, which was partially cured and modelled to shape. Areas of loss were then retouched.
